I was hoping we could join the USTA Kansas Team competition in the next year, but we were pretty immediately able to put together a team of eight to 10 ladies and we are off and running. The PD USTA League team competes with three other club teams from Wichita to Salina. Our women meet each team twice in league play and play three doubles matches each time. Teams accumulate points to qualify for spots in season-ending regional and national competitions.Gillam is watching the husbands and hopes the contagious womens league will inspire them and other men to get involved. If not a mens USTA League team, I predict at least a Club mens tennis program is coming soon.National pastimeRacquets and paddles are not just for regular members. Colin has had the pleasure of working with several wives of national members and their guests. We love welcoming wives who travel with their golfing husbands, PD General Manager and COO Thomas Barksdale tells us. The Club, with its lodges, our wonderful and customizable food and beverage experience and the opportunity to take private or group instruction from Colin or even the Golf Staff, makes Prairie Dunes a great stay-and-play destination.
